YSA
Young Scholars Academy
The Young Scholars Academy is a regional partnership between NKCES, NKU, and 11 high schools in the Northern Kentucky region. YSA scholars are admitted as a cohort in the beginning of their junior year of high school for a two-year immersive college experience. Scholars complete a full-time, on-campus college courseload at NKU, with the option to earn general education certification, begin coursework toward a bachelor's degree, and/or complete an associate's degree. Scholars must be recommended by their high school for academic, social, and emotional readiness for a full-time college experience. YSA scholars pursue a variety of academic interests, including business, education, fine arts, health and human services, humanities and social science, media and communications, and STEM.
Our mission statement: empowering a community of learners to engage in authentic growth
