Thanks to our partnership with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, eligible middle and high school students preparing for college and career are participating in a free, half-day summer camp at Milestones Riding Stables during June and July. Activities provided are work-based, giving students interested in horse and stable care the opportunity to experience this work first hand. Students feed, water, and groom horses as well as clean stables. During June, students from Simon Kenton, Beechwood, Dayton, Scott, and Pendleton County High schools enthusiastically engaged with the horses and worked on their behalf. During July, students from Holmes, Dixie, and Lloyd High School plan to participate. There are still a few openings for camps scheduled on July 11 and July 21. If you know of any students who would love a fun, educational opportunity and are not afraid to get their hands dirty, please contact Linda Lane, CCR Trainer at 859-442-8600, x26, firstname.lastname@example.org.
