NKSEC (Northern Kentucky Special Education Cooperative) is one of eleven Special Education Cooperatives in the commonwealth of Kentucky and is a member of the Special Education Cooperative Network.  The cooperatives are funded by State-Share-Restricted-Funds from the Kentucky Department of Education, Division of Exceptional Children Services (KDE DECS).  Together, the eleven Special Education Cooperatives provide services to every public school district in Kentucky.  The Special Education Cooperative Network is intended to assist local school districts in meeting the needs of its member districts and to carry out priorities for the state identified in the State Performance Plan (SPP) and in continuous improvement monitoring by the Office of Special Education Programs.  The collection and analysis of local, regional, state and national data is of priority in service delivery.   The Northern Kentucky Special Education Cooperative includes all school districts in the counties of Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Pendleton, and Williamstown Independent in Grant County.

KENTUCKY'S SPECIAL EDUCATION COOPERATIVES will enhance the educational opportunities and outcomes of students by providing effective leadership and delivering specialized services in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education, local school districts, institutes of higher education, and other service providers
